We get asked a lot of questions about our Escape Room Games so we’ve compiled a list of the most frequently asked questions, so you’ll be reassured about what to expect when you arrive. If you find you still questions, you can get in touch with us here at Escape Room Southend, we’ll be more than happy to talk you through your problems.
What exactly are Escape Room Games?
These are medium sized rooms which have been furnished using a particular theme, usually taken from popular culture. You will be in a team of about two to six people, and they will be locked in the same room with you. You will all be searching for clues so you can escape the room within 60 minutes.
An hour to find and solve a range of clues
The secret to your release from the room lies in the clues you must find and solve within an hour. You’ll search everywhere in the room. Once you find them all you’ll try working them out to find the bigger picture, then you can all escape the room in time. If you’re successful, the door will open. Do you and your team have what it takes to get out in time? If you don’t, you can always come back and try again.
How old do you have to be to take part?
There are no age limits, but if you’re thinking of bringing children under 10, they may find it a little tough going as it’s designed for adults initially. If you do decide to bring anyone under 16, then please do, but make sure there are adults around and make sure they are always supervised.
I suffer with claustrophobia, should I still come?
Don’t worry we can leave the doors unlocked and leave the door open too. The rooms aren’t too small, but want to make sure you enjoy the experience, so you feel comfortable while you’re playing. Let us know if you’d like us to do this. Remember, you can leave the room whenever you want.
What’s the maximum amount of people allowed?
From two to six. But, try to keep the numbers to just below six if you can, otherwise it could get a bit crowded, and you’ll be bumping into things left right and centre. You can always use more than one room.
How much time do you need before and after you’re inside the room?
We usually suggest about an hour and a half because we’ll need to talk to you about what to expect, and chat to you about health and safety before you enter, so you know how to exit safely should there be an emergency.
